Ghost Chicken is a bold new QSR concept launching in Bettendorf, Iowa, focused on flavor-packed chicken, high-energy service, and fast, fresh food done right. We’re building a team ready to shake up the quick-service world and set a new standard.
We’re seeking a General Manager (GM) who is hands-on, guest-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. This leader will not only run the restaurant but also represent Ghost Chicken in the community, building excitement for the brand and driving local engagement.
Position Summary
The General Manager is the heartbeat of Ghost Chicken. You’ll lead all aspects of the restaurant—from the counter to the kitchen—ensuring top-tier food quality, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence. You’ll recruit, train, and inspire a winning team, oversee financial performance, and actively promote Ghost Chicken in the Bettendorf community through events, partnerships, and grassroots marketing.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
● Hire, train, schedule, and manage hourly team members.
● Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive team culture.
● Lead team meetings and set daily goals and expectations.
● Provide coaching, feedback, and performance reviews.
● Manage employee relations, discipline, and accountability.
Operations Management
● Oversee front- and back-of-house operations during all shifts.
● Maintain food quality, speed of service, and cleanliness standards.
● Execute Ghost Chicken recipes, safety procedures, and food handling standards.
● Ensure compliance with health department regulations and licensing.
Financial & Administrative
● Track labor, food costs, and sales to achieve profitability targets.
● Handle cash management, deposits, and POS reporting.
● Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory of food, supplies, and beverages.
● Maintain vendor relationships and equipment service schedules.
Technology & Tools
● Operate and troubleshoot POS and Kitchen Display Systems (KDS).
● Monitor order prep times, guest satisfaction, and staff efficiency using digital tools.
Community Engagement & Brand Promotion
● Actively promote Ghost Chicken within the Bettendorf community.
● Execute and participate in local events, sponsorships, and community outreach efforts.
● Conduct grassroots marketing efforts such as stopping at local businesses, distributing coupons, and engaging in guerrilla marketing strategies.
● Host and manage in-store events and represent Ghost Chicken at offsite community events to build brand awareness.
● Build relationships with local organizations, schools, and businesses to establish Ghost Chicken as a community staple.
Qualifications
● 2+ years of restaurant management experience (QSR or fast casual preferred).
● Certified Food Protection Manager (or ability to obtain).
● Strong leadership, time management, and communication skills.
● Comfortable with active community involvement and brand representation.
● Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended hours.
● Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the U.S.
● Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
● Reliable transportation to/from the Bettendorf location.

Community Engagement Expectations – Ghost Chicken
As a General Manager at Ghost Chicken, community involvement is a key responsibility. Our success is rooted in becoming an active and visible part of Bettendorf and surrounding areas. Below are the expectations for community engagement and brand promotion:
1. Local Business Outreach
● Visit nearby businesses regularly to introduce Ghost Chicken and build relationships.
● Distribute branded coupons, menus, and promotional offers.
● Offer “Business Lunch” and catering info to local offices.
● Maintain a positive, professional representation of the brand at all times.
2. Guerrilla Marketing
● Engage in creative, grassroots marketing strategies (e.g., coupon drops, pop-up tastings).
● Utilize high-traffic areas for brand exposure (local events, markets, festivals).
● Partner with local influencers or community figures to help spread awareness.
3. Event Execution
● Plan and execute in-store events (e.g., grand opening, seasonal specials, “Meet the Team” nights).
● Participate in community events and festivals by setting up booths or offering samples.
● Coordinate with the corporate team to secure promotional materials, signage, and support.
4. Community Partnerships
● Build relationships with schools, youth sports teams, nonprofits, and community organizations.
● Organize sponsorships, fundraisers, or spirit nights to drive local engagement.
● Network with civic groups (Chamber of Commerce, networking events) to increase brand presence.
Compensation: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
